    The Basava Samiti, established in 1973 at Kolar Gold Fields, upholds Guru Basavanna's philosophy through a range of impactful initiatives. Over the past 50 years, the Samiti has built the grand “Basava Samsukritak Bhavana” and organized various social, religious and educational programs. Key activities include "Vachana Gayana Competitions", "Social and Cultural Debates" and the annual "Pratibha Puraskara" to honor meritorious students. The Samiti also celebrates Basavanna's and other revered Sharanas Jayanti’s with devotion. In 1993, Akkana Balaga was formed to boost women's involvement, fostering cultural engagement through Bhajan’s, Vachana Gayana and rangoli competitions.

    Founder President

    S R PRABHAKAR

    Five decades ago, in 1973, with the primary goal of propagating the teachings of Basavadi Sharana’s, Shri S. R. Prabhakar established the Basava Samiti under his leadership.

    The founder president, Lingaikya Shri.S. R. Prabhakar, worked tirelessly for the growth of the Basava Samiti and performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the Basava Samskrutika Bhavan at BEML Nagar, Kolar Gold Fields in 1996.

    Acknowledging his efforts and leadership helps to honor his memory and ensures that his work continues to inspire the ongoing growth and development of the Basava Samiti.
